Hi,

I've started this thread in order to attempt to capture as many issues as
possible with this phone. I'm trying to resolve several of those I've listed
with Motorola, Expansys and Orange. This only really applies to those who
have bought the phone SIM free in the UK though I suspect others will be
having issues.

1. Motorola pre-installs 9 Web Sessions and in order to get GPRS working
at all a further Web Session had to be added. In order to get MMS to work
an additional Web Session needs to be added and this simply isn't possible.
According to Motorola Technical Support (useless and bordering on dismissive
when I've spoken with them) the pre-installed Web Sessions cannot be
deleted.

2. For each contact I can have several data items listed e.g. Home
Number, Mobile Number, Business Number, E-mail address etc etc. These are
all listed as separate items in the Contacts list which makes the list
extremely large and unwieldy. Surely it would be better to list each name
and then select that name to view all the numbers etc that are listed for
that person.

3. When searching for a Contact you can only specify the first letter of
their name. So, to select 'Susan' you either select 'S' and scroll a long
way down or 'T' and scroll a long way up.

4. There is no indication on the home screen that an alarm is set and
active. It would make sense to have a small bell symbol (or similar) by the
time to indicate that an alarm is active. Whilst on the subject of alarms,
it would also be sensible to be able to select an alarm on for each workday
that automatically repeats Monday to Friday.

5. In order to free up memory I would like to be able to delete virtually
all the pre-installed pictures and videos. They're locked an cannot be
deleted.

Please add your issues.

Regards

Alan

When using a Jabra BT800 headset, the ring tone doesn't chime. You
just get a beep.

2 - can be fixed to some degree by setting the contact list to display
primary number only. You can still find the other numbers in this view
by pressing right & left when you're on a contact.

is terrible. Come back Nokia... all is forgiven.

Buy data cable. Install free file manager software like P2KMAN. Go to root
of phone's file system. Delete file: "WebSession". Done. Poof.

Am I correct in assuming that the USB cable that came with the phone is
suitable for this? I'll be looking at doing this when I get home from work
this evening.

Regards and thanks.

I've downloaded P2KMan but simply cannot get it to see my phone (is there a
guide to using this software anywhere?) I've disabled everything, all to no
avail. Is there anyone around the Cheltenham area of the UK that can delete
some of the Web Sessions for me; I'll very definitely make it worth your
while!

Cheers

Alan

The drivers included with P2KMAN (you MUST use WinXP and the late July
release of P2KMAN) are enough; you don't need MPT or anything else.

Mike,

I've been having an extensive play with the phone and have noticed that the
alarm has Alarm Clock functionality has been lost; I simply cannot set an
alarm. When in Alarm Clock with [New Alarm] displayed I have the option of
'EXIT' or 'SELECT' neither of which work. I haven't knowingly altered
anything in here so do you have any suggestions?

Regards and thanks in advance.

Seems you might have inadvertently deleted something important.

When in the same screen on my V3, the SELECT key opens another screen where
you can input details of the alarm!!
