My PC had this issue about 6 months ago for a short period but then rectified what ever the cause was but in the last week/10 days it has started to do it again. When I start up I now have to hit the NumLock key. the PC functions perfectly for around 10 minutes and reboots, then it will run perfectly until I manually shut it down.

Hi my friend

Windows 8 has new Hybrid Shutdown feature that expedites the booting process of the operating system. Although it was integrated in Windows 8 to help users, sometimes it also causes some issues, and shutting down the computer abruptly is among one of them.

In most cases the issue is resolved by disabling the Hybrid Shutdown. You can follow the link below to see how to disable the Hybrid Shutdown.
