I have recently bought a few MET CDR 1x-24x, and my CDRW, is a Yamaha 44x24x48x. HEre is the problem, when i burn onto the CD, it only alows me to burn at 8x!!!!
Ok, now it might jsut be the CD, but then just today, i did a multisession, adn the CD burnt at 16x !!!!?!??!?!? I am really confused here....plz help :D

you are burning with the enhanced audio feature on, that actually improves the sound, by burning deeper and wider pits, 8x is the fastest you can burn in that mode. Just use a program like nero if you wish to burn at full speed.

but i did use nero 5, and i wasn't burning audio files - i was copying a CD (data)....and i tried another CDR disk, and it burnt at 16x no prob....just the MET 1x-24x that is confusing me!!!

also, i have read somewhere that some Cds are more compatible wif paticular writers...could this be the problem?

and also, does anyone know if the Yamaha CDRW-F1E can write at a speed of 24x ???? thanks
