I hope someone can help me figure out a solution. I have
ASUS P5A-B Super 7 MB
AMD K6-111 400 Processor
256 mb Ram
CD ROM
WD 13G Hard Drive
Win ME
I am trying to upgrade to a WD 40G HD But I can't seem to install the ME operating system. When I run setup.exe get the following message "Windows setup requires 15728640 bytes available on your C Drive"
On the CMOS the HD is Primary Master, the Type is Auto, and I have tried both Large and LBA mode.
I am at my wits end I have looked at the ASUS homepage to see if their might be a BIO update but I have'nt found one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
I wouldn't put money on it, but that super 7 motherboard is limited to see below 40 gig size drives. my dad had to upgrade motherboard for the same reason, he got a 40 gig drive to replace the 20 gig and the bios of the motherboard didn't like it.
if there is no bios update then it's upgrade time, or replace 40 with a 30 gig.

Is your HD being formatted yet? You need to format it first (ironically, WinME does not support formatting anymore???). You have to use other softwares to do that (Win98's format command for example).
Also, did you partition it? It first needed to be partitioned (using WinME's FDisk in Setup disk) before Format.
Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.
