Choosing the right method to increase signal range

I have got a new router/modem upstairs (NETGEAR CG3100D Network Gateway) and two Linksys E2000 around the house. I know dd-wrt is installed on them and was used to make them repeaters (currently reset.) The downstairs routers are connected to powerline adapters (http://www.netgear.com.au/home/products/powerline/defau...).

I am wondering how the pro that set it up would have done it? I understand both wireless bridge and repeater bridge methods are wireless but shouldn't I take advantage of the powerline adapters connecting them. Is this what the adapters are for?

So what method should I use for my home network? And more importantly, where is a quality tutorial of how to do it? These look good but confused me slightly http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Tutorials
