first off I have a gigabyte ga-8iexp 533fsb motherboard w/ 845e 533fsb
this motherboard should accept 3gig RAM of pc2100
I am running pc 2700 (1) 512 stick (ddr 2700 333) ..but when I install more than one stick the system will not boot
I understand that my memory is auto reclocked to 2100 but would like to add more than 512mb ram
is there a work around to doing this other than a swap file in windows? or could I install another system that might more readily accept this configuration?

Do you mean it won't boot at all or it just won't load Windows?

Get a copy of Cacheman 5.11

Install it while you have 512 MB or less then shutdown and install the extra memory.

99% is great, unless you are talking about system stability

There is a knowledgebase doc at microsoft on a poss fix for using over 512mb but W9x is just not suited to this amount of memory... Win2000 or XP REALLY is required as they are a LOT more efficient at handling large amounts of memory...

is it summer already ??? oh, its just the heat haze coming off my PC...

Get rid of ME. Use WinXP Pro.
