I have 256MB DDR333 PC-2700 RAM. What should i set my page file to?

the old rule of thumb used to be twice RAM == 512MB.  Not sure if that still applies.  Probably just let windows manage it would be fine.

I've got 512mb of RAM and I set mine at 256mb, which works fine for me... it gives a total that suffices what I do, but it all depends on yourself.. if you notice the system lagging a bit, change it to a higher value (mind you, with 256mb of ram,  i would set it at 256mb as well..)
 
Ahhh! It's 2003 and wait, whats this!? My computer didn't blow up! ... Well damn, there goes my new Athlon @ 333FSB and my inssurance claim... heheheh

what is this paging? where do you find it, what does it do?

Geez, you ask me the question I can't remeber the answer to : where it is... I just did it the other day too, but sorry, ask FRIK where it is again. What it does is that should you run out of RAM while performing tasks, your system will utilize HardDrive memory instead so you can keep on going without a huge lag while your system processes all the required info...

dam that happenes alot with my system, when im doing a load of stuff at the same time, but the new system shouldn't have a problem
