What is the power consumption of a 120 / 160 GB 5400 rpm Maxtor harddisk approx ?

Not very much once spun up. Spinup takes alot more power, but only for a short period.
As for numbers, Its best going to maxtors website and finding a PDF datasheet on your particular drive.
