HDD cables

I'll soon be running a pair of WD 400BB drives with an ASUS P4PE mobo. Should I get 80 wire cables for these drives? ASUS sent one 80 wire, single drive cable with the board, and also a two drive 40 wire. What about using 80 wire two drive cables for the optical drives as well as the HDs?Thanks for any info you can share...

Definitly only use 80 pin cables for your hard drives or else you will be crawling. I guess the best way to do it is to put one optical and one hd together on each channel with an 80 pin cable for both, but if you just want to get things going you can put the two hds together with the 80 pin and the two opticals will be fine on the 40.
