I am a student at ball state and we get major discounts on software upgrades. i was planning on buying windows 7 ultimate for thirty dollars but its only the upgrade. Can i use a cd called "emachines T2984 restore dvd? will this put on windows xp and be able to upgrade it from there? Here are my computer specs:

nope but you can buy the upgrade and do a clean install just google clean install upgrade and there are tutorials to follow

A Windows 7 clean install simply means an installation of Windows 7 on an unused partition on your hard drive. Meaning starting from scratch.
