I need to reinstall 98 on an old PC but I can't find my certificate. I know the info is already on the computer somewhere in the registry but I can't find it. I thought it was :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-MS-WINDOWS-CURRENT VERSION but it's not. Anyone have the answer?

It should be in this key (probably the same key you mentioned:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion]

It's called "ProductKey". If you can't find it, try doing a search (Ctrl+F).

Windows 98 keys (first edition) will work for Windows 98SE but not the other way around.
