I just replaced one of my 2 maxtor 60 Gig HDs with a new maxtor 120 Gig HD. At first it was recognized at the startup as well as in Win XP. Since then after any reboots the 120G HD is seen (as the slave) but shows no space as well as being labeled with weird letters and markings. No files show up either. I am wondering if my motherboard is not able to recognize a 120G HD. Is this a BIOS problem possibly. I have an ASUS A7V266-E Socket A Motherboard with VIA KT266A Chipset and Athlon 1800 XP AMD. Any suggestions.

Have you partitioned and formated the new HDD before use?
