My motherboard has integrated AC97 6-channel audio, and its supposed to come with a bracket so that it will add 3 more ports to the 3 that are on the motherboard. The book says that it will still support 6 audio using some software it has, my question is if I use a few of those RCA splitters that let you turn 1 line into 2 and vise versa on my motherboard, can I then have 6 channel audio? Thank you!!
splitting the audio out won't add more to the effects, it's better to get those extra three outputs. when you split the three existing ones, then you got in fact two speakers per channel so in that case 3 cannels with two speakers on each one
without splitter, you have then the full 6 channel mode with one speaker per channel which makes difference when you want the surround effects (they will be more "touchable",a s then the full mode is enabled)
4.1 is 4.1 and not 3x2 so it's different, from there the reason of that bracket (the sixth channel is an input for recording purpose)
i hope this is your answer...
