Hello

Im looking for a flat panel to replace my CRT and I am unsure if what I am looking for really exists.

* At least 19"
* 1600x1200
* Suited for gaming

Any idea?

Thanks

If you want 1600x1200, then you should go for 20' models. And there's no fast panels that are really good for gaming with this diagonal.
But from other side. What do you need 1600x1200 for in games? Even if you're owning top zuper computer than 1600x1200 may bring it to knees. And lower resolution interpolation for all LCD monitors are rather tough task.
I personally recommend to check Samsung 172X. Maybe the fastest monitor among new releases. Not sure about Hydis's, because I have not had chance to test them myself. Prophetview was hard to find. And another one from Hitachi is a rare find here in USA.

Thanks for your answer.

Why 1600x1200? Well I own a 19" CRT (Philips Brilliance 109MP) and a notebook with a 15" screen (1400x1050) And after beign used to resolutions higher than 1280x1024 for 4 or 5 years I dont feel like switching back to lower ones. My current setup is a P4 2.8 HT, 1GB DDR400 dual channel and Radeon 9800 Pro. By now I have no problems playing at 1600x1200.

I'll look for the Samsung 172X, and someone told me about the Acer AL2021M. Did anyone test em?

172X is pretty much at gaming... if you're running 1600x1200 any game will be slow enough for LCD. :) Joke. Its native resolution 1280x1024. And for this diagonal, I think 1280x1024 is the best resolution you can get. By the way, there're many games that don't even run at 1600x1200. BF, for instance.
On my top notch box, UT2k4 is really sluggish at this resolution. You can enjoy views, but not play at 30-40FPS. :)
