Ok, I am SO confused. I just got a Tungsten C. What are my wireless
options? Is it only through these "hot spots" or is there a service
where I can get wireless anywhere? ANY help would be appreciated!

With WiFi (802.11b, what you get with the C) you need a wireless
LOCAL network of some kind, of which "hotspots" are the commercial
variety. You can set one up in your house for fifty bucks, if
desired.
For connect-anywhere you're probably looking at a GPRS phone or
adapter. The Tungsten C, as I recall, doesn't come with BlueTooth,
another radio networking protocol, and the one designed to let the
portable work with peripherals like phones. This would imply that to
get almost-anywhere connectivity you'd need a separate adapter,
perhaps this one from Enfora:

Only through hot spots. Or you can connect it to your cell phone to get
service anywhere (for lots of money, though).

I would suggest looking at this website for more information. They
maintain a listing of many hotspots around the world.
