Configuring a wireless connection

How can I configure (reconfigure) the wireless connection on my laptop? I say "reconfigure" because I did have the internet connection up until recently on my laptop as well, which I lost somehow.
I have a Cisco Linksys router, and a Rogers modem for on-line connection on my desktop.
I am not an expert and will need step-by-step help. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Assuming the router is properly connected to the MODEM and is transmitting an Internet connection - and you can check that by cabling to the router - the only configuring left to do is to make sure your computer has the right wireless security key.

Everything you need to know about how to find what that security key is, is in our Sticky Post on the subject and here is a link to it. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/38111-18-find-chang...
