Configuring a wireless connection

How can I configure (reconfigure) the wireless connection on my laptop? I say "reconfigure" because I did have the internet connection up until recently on my laptop as well, which I lost somehow.
I have a Cisco Linksys router, and a Rogers modem for on-line connection on my desktop.
I am not an expert and will need step-by-step help. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Assuming the router is properly connected to the MODEM and is transmitting an Internet connection - and you can check that by cabling to the router - the only configuring left to do is to make sure your computer has the right wireless security key.
