Wireless button won't turn green

i have an hp laptop that has a wireless button on the top right hand of the typing area. It has turned red before and all i had to do was push the button and it would turn gree. It has gone red again and when i push the button it stays red. can you help me fix this?

Is the button you push a Fn controlled button that works when you press the Fn key ?
I would go into network connections and check on the network adaptor and maybe you'll have to resetit in there. If this is a constant thing then maybe you can try changing the channel on the router because your getting some interference that causing the signal to be dropped.
