Yamaha CRW-F1E

does anyone know if the Yamaha CRW-F1E can write at a speed of 24x? On the box it does say it burns at 44x, 16x, etc...but this site: http://www.bench-house.com/article.php?oliver=304&sid=215&pop=DoP&form22=+Go!+ seems to contradict it...plz help

You need to download and install the latest firmware for the drive, currently a the "f" level. That allows for the steps between 16x and 44x.
