I do not know how to connect my sound card to the power mixer
I want to use the mixer for a karaoke show at my house
I have looked at the manual BUT that is not very helpful as it is just a
small sheet in English the main manual is in all other languages
My details
I have a sound blaster live audio card 9000
A Pentium P4 4gig
800 meg of memory
If you can give me some details OR a web page where I see how and where
to connect this up I would be most grateful
Also I see that the speakers out have funny connection on them
I want to connect the mixer to my existing Jamo speakers at home which I
think they are 4/8ohms and 200 watts
Will these be ok to run from the mixer
Can I buy the new type of speaker connectors and solder to my existing
speaker cables
Sorry for so many things
BTW I'm in the UK
As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
I don't often contribute to this newsgroup, however I am sure that I
can help you even though I haven't seen either the mixer or the
computer hardware.
Your computer will have a line level output, this is likely to be
minijack. My guess is that it looks like a socket on a Walkman for
headphones. Your PMX1000 will have a number of inputs that are marked
"line" these, knowing the normal Behringer formation will be normal
jack inputs.
Your computer will probably have one output jack for both the right and
the left channels. If it doesn't it will have connections marked Left
and Right or L R.
The Behringer will require one jack input for each channel.
Therefore you need one stereo minijack to 2x mono standard jack lead.
Connect one end to the puter, and the other two plugs to the Behringer
and away you go.
Behringer assumes some knowledge of sound in its product manuals, a lot
of companies do.
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention...the speaker connections are called
speakon. They are industry-standard by now. You need a lead with a
speakon connector on one side and whatever type of connection suits
your speakers on the other.
