I have a new eMachine computer AMD 1.8 gHz with a 250watt power supply and want to upgrade my video card and sound card. I was thinking about an nVidia geForce4 or similar card and a sound blaster medium grade card. My questions is do I need to upgrade my power supply to run the new video card vise the installed integrated video card. If so any suggestion on a good power supply? 400 watt 450 watt ??

A good 'name' brand of 350W should be more than enough for your needs. It will also allow for future upgrades.

Yeah, a 350W psu of a reliable brand should be sufficient, my faves are either Enermax, Antec or TopTower.
Possibly a 400+W model should you be considering overclocking in the future.
