Hi all,

we bought a used Tac Scorpion II Mixer 32 in 32 sub...usw
we have some trouble with it:

1) output modul - some high frequencies missing on one channel...maybe a
capacitor...but which one..

2) some potis are not working correct...but those potis have special
formats...and can´t be replacxed with normal ones from the electronic
stack.

we need schematics and maybe a little help with it...
i only found those of the input module S1001/S1101 on the web

maybe someone can tell us where to get replacement potis in GERMANY...for
a fair price

we dont have the big money...its just for a non commercial band project.

if someone can help us, you can reach us at mad.murdoc@gmx.net

Big Thx and greetz Mad

I don't know, but I would replace all the electrolytics and clean everything
before even starting to work on the module. Most of the electrolytics will
be fine, but they won't stay fine for long and you'd do better just to replace
them than to wait for the rest of them to fail.

Yup, that is basically the way pots are today. Few companies are making
them, and most of the standard items from the eighties are now rare things.
You want reverse log taper or even standard audio taper and things get
difficult. For the most part, the pots on the TAC can be disassembled
and cleaned and they'll be okay as long as the caps keeping DC offset from
them aren't bad. If there is DC offset on them, they will just get noisy
again. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it.

I hope you have a lot of spare time and a good source for electrolytics.
In Germany, I would recommend a call to Buerklin for Wima electrolytics.
