mid range sound card

hey guys...im thinking of getting a new speaker system and sound card for my computer and i was wondering if you all knew of any good mid-range sound cards....thanks for the help

well i dont want to go to the expense of the audigy two....way to much

i was just wondering about a card that is cheaper that still has really good sound quality....i dont need a lot of features, just a card that has really good sound quality and that isnt as expensive as the audigy 2

The [original] Audigy and the Hercules Fortissimo3 are good bets. The OEM Audigy (without any extra software bundle) goes for about $60 IIRC and the F3 (7.1 support) is bloody good value at ~$45. The Audigy will probably sound better in music playback. Check www.tech-report.com to read their 2 sound card comparisons.
