Anyone have suggestions for a two track
recorder with multiple media (flash cards)?
All I really need is something that will record
two tracks at once. Don't need any effects or extras.
I have two Octiva MC-012 mics that I use to record
classical guitar so I need to inputs, phantom power
capable.

Fostex FR-2. Preamps are so-so but otherwise it seems like an okay box.

That's the hard part. I guess I'd have to steer you to the Marantz
PMD-670 (if I got that right) at the moment. Or you could go with a
modular solution and check out the Core Sound mic preamp, your
favorite PDA, and their PDA audio interface card.
There are several flash card recorders out now, but most of them are
oriented toward the MP3 crowd - mini mic jacks, no phantom power, not
terribly good audio quality. I don't know how good that Marantz is,
but I know some people are using it for music. It's mostly a broadcast
tool.

For linear recording (not MP3) you might try our PDAudio system:
Not only does it not have phantom power, it also does not sound that good
without a preamp of some sort. I use an MR-8 with preamps that provide
phantom power.

Trust me, your going to hate the MR8's record time. Spend the extra money on
the new one (VF80EX) with the bult in hard drive. I have have not heard it but
I'm sure its the same as the MR8 but having a 20 gig hardrive.
