Wireless card for gaming pc PCI or USB?

Just got my gaming pc and need a wireless card for it, I have a linksys WRT54G. What wireless card would you suggest? Is usb equally as good as PCI or is PCI still better? My price range is around $50

Forgot to mention the router is just on the other side of a wall, its about 5 feet away.

I would go with the Pci card as it will offer faster connectivity.
