i was talking to one of my friends, and he said that memory is better ran with the same size. meaning that 128mb of ram should run with other 128mb of ram. he said it was more optimized than running 128mb and 2 sticks of 64mb ram. i told him i knew rambus memory requires pair operation, but he was talking about memory in general and not just rambus memory. can someone confirmed or deny what my friend said?

Well using one DIMM is better than two which is better than using three. (*Except in the case of dual channeled buses.)

The distances to each DIMM changes.

As for whether to use different sized capacities while using the same number of DIMMs...??? I don't know for sure one way or the other.
