Is there a way to slow down the sound file without lowering the tone of the
instrument? This can be done in Pro Tools, or any other type of audio
software.
I am trying to learn guitar and keyboard techniques. I would like to be
able to play the file very slowly but have it stay in the same key as it
originally is.

I use a Tascam CD-GT1. There are bass and vocal versions too. Or were you
looking for a software solution?

First, you need to learn some basic musical terminology. "Speed" is
"tempo." What you're calling "tone" is "pitch." And yes, you CAN, in
digits, slow down tempo while maintaining the same pitch. You can't
in analog.

Thanks for the feedback, everybody.
I wonder if I can do a slowdown on my Pro Tools or Sound Studio?

You've never seen the analog tempo changer with the rotating heads?
I've never seen one in the flesh, but I've seen pictures and read a
description. It's not something you'd want today, except in a museum
of broadcast equipment.

Of course you can. You have a manual ? Or a helpfile ?
What a cool app! I had never heard of it before. Just DL'ed the demo. I like
it a lot. I usually use an old version of Reed Kottler's Transcriber when I
need to hunt and peck, but this looks to be way more fun.
Thanks,
DJ
