I have a wireless router and a wireless internet connection. all works fine. For my work I have to have a wired connection. I connected an Ethernet cable from my pc to my router and it shows connected but has NO internet connection. How do I get both?

You get one or the other and to enable the lan adapter you have to go to the network and sharing page and selct change adapter settings and then if you have both wired and wireless adapters then you will see two adapters and they both want to say enabled although Windows will only use one of them and you should disable the wireless adapter once your connected to the wired one.
If you only se one adapter then you may not have the drivers loaded for the lan adapter and you will have to do that to get it to work.
