Hi All,

A few of us (filmmakers all) have started a wikibook on how to make low
budget films. Sound Design is a vital aspect of film and we
wholeheartedly welcome contributions in this area from this group.

The book is still pretty rudimentary at this stage and could use your
help. Find it here:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Movie_making_manual

What is is:

- The "movie making manual" is intended as a practical guide to making
a film. It covers everything from development to distribution.

- The manual is an optimistic, direct, to the point guide.

- It is a wiki this means anyone from around the world can make changes
to it. Wikipedia has proven that this model of collaborative creation
can be incredibly effective and produce documents rapidly.

Why you should contribute:

- This manual will be freely available to everyone around the world.
That means if Sipwe in Lesotho wants to become a filmmaker he can go to
his local Internet cafe and read the guide to find out if filmmaking is
possible for him.

- The content of this manual will be available for reuse. Anyone
around the world can take this content and reuse it for their own
projects. This will greatly acellerate the spread of filmmaking
knowledge.

- When it is a really big and sucessful project you will be able to
say. "I was there at the beginning"

PLease help with this manual. Our goal is not only to be a great
resource for filmmakers but also the be the most complete wikibook out
there and be held up as a model for other wikibooks...

regards,
Simon

Comforting to hear someone say that. Filmmakers I've known have been
woefully unconcerned with audio, almost to the point of having contempt
for it as a pollutant or something.
