No Sound through Remote Desktop Connection

A user is trying to remote to her desktop with a small Dell Latitude netbook through remote desktop connection via a work VPN. Both her laptop and her desktop have working sound; however, when connected to her desktop through her laptop, no sound can be heard. It says there there are no audio devices detected. Obviously the drivers are installed on the desktop. Any suggestions?

  2. Just windows remote desktop through windows 7.
  3. Maybe a silly question, have you checked the connection settings on the RDC on the netbook to play sounds locally
  4. Yes, that is checked. I think the problem has to do with the fact that there is no detected sound devices from the computer it is connected to (even though some are obviously installed).
