Xbox wont connect to router with the correct password.

I have a xbox 360 s that will not connect to my router (arris dg860). The password word im entering is correct but to no avail. so far i have opened the ports on my router, i have tried every type of security and still nothing. The only time i was able to connect to the router was if it was completely open, and i do not want a open network.

Got off the the phone with xbox live support and apperntly this is a common problem with arris brand routers, where the arris brand routers will not comunicate wirelessly with the new xbox 360 slims. They told me it can normally be fixed by using a wireless g adapter. i happen to have a wireless n adapter made for the xbox that i was letting a friend borrow, and I will let you guys know if that fixes my problem incase anyone else runs into this issue.
