Can access point be the solution?


i have a belkin wifi router in my hall which is the only place in my house where i get wifi connectivity.But, its range is not sufficient enough to be connected in my room.the distance is around 1500 sq ft.can installing access point be the solution?if so where do i keep the access point. In my room or hall?

  1. The placement of the AP mostly depends where you have ethernet cable and power...although you can use PoE on some AP.

    The closer to the end devices the better but at some point if you can get a ethernet cable that close you are better off using the cable directly. You want your router and your AP on different radio channels to avoid interference.
