Ethernet Driver Not installing

I have had my new computer up and running for 2 days amd have installed 2 games but i couldnt connect to the internet because my driver installation cd says "D:\ is not a valid win32 application" when i try to run it and i dont know what to do i have tried resetting cd to defaults, installing manually by going in to cd files and have tried running in safe mode but nothing works help would be very much appreciated......i have windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS

Download the latest Windows 7 x64 Ethernet/LAN driver from the manufacturer website (for the computer, or motherboard/adapter if you built it) and install that, also insure that the onboard LAN is turned on in the bios.
