Hi,
Phew...I just killed 100 skeletons in the Temple of Baa. I think it
took me 15 minutes to pick all of them up! But, I can't find the key to
Treasure Room 1? I found the first 6 keys but am stuck on TR1? Any help
would be appreciated.

Also, I'm in FreeHaven and am getting crushed by female archers that
shoot fireballs with their bows, and they'll attack you even in town
during the day! My team is at level 11 and all have EXPERT bow (3
have Precision Bows, and 1 has Magic Bow). Are we just in over our
heads at this point in the game?

Thanks for any help.
Tucsonjim
PS: MM6 is huuuge and awesome!!

Interesting that you picked up this great old game same as I have couple
weeks ago. Great fun!

You first have to open up all the doors in the center of the main room, I
believe the order was n e w s. Inside the center is another chest containing
a key. Get that key and go to the last bathhouse, and in the final chest
will be the treasure room key.

Now granted, you could've used the secret room key, run to 2nd floor balcony
and shoot the skeletons to death without them being able to retaliate. But
what fun is that. Run into the 100+ skeletons and die a few times, hehe.

Free haven archers are pretty nasty for you at lvl 11. Just run into free
haven, get your skills, and get out.

I would recommend you finish the easy areas in IronFist, Misty Islands, and
Bootleg bay before you seriously wander FreeHaven outskirts.

You're right the game is huge. Mteam is at lvl 35 and I don't think I
touched 1/3 of the game.

There is a nice guide at
http://www.the-spoiler.com/RPG/New.World.Computing/might.and.magic6.3/mm6.htm

I wouldn't worry too much about using the guide. The game is so huge that
the info in there won't help you level faster or anything. It just cuts down
on the tedious task of finding all the trainers, questers, etc in this huge
world.

Hope this helped!

Thanks for the help Amoeba, appreciate it. I can see where some people
think that MM6 is the best RPG game ever. I'll hold back until I play
FF7, which others say is the best ever, I'm playing that one next. I
think it'll be fun to compare the two.

One more piece of help if you could, how the heck do I fight them
blobs, I've hit them with everything I could think of and didn't even
dent there blobby bodies?

Thanks again

Thanks Alma.
I hear what you're saying but my team has swords and mace, didn't work,
and we threw every magic spell we had as we tried to find something
that worked. We used FireBolt, Flaming Arrow, Electric Shock, no
apparent effect. When we tried to run away they all of a sudden
appeared behind us and in front of us, and we tried running around them
but they blocked the path and put us all 6 ft under, how discussting to
be killed by a lowly blob just when I was thinking that my team was
pretty tough...geeze!

However, give us any distance and nothing can handle the power of 4
expert bows. In the dungeons they'll all smart, because they rush you
to take away the bow advantage amd you can't back away fast enough.

Thanks again.

Think blobs are only affected by maagical spells and possibly weapons. May
even be only fire. They are tough. Kill a few and then back off to
recharge. Or you may be able to run around them.

If you're talking about the blobs in sorpigal, forget them. You're not
strong enough to kill them and there's not really anything worth getting
down there.

Later on, you'll be able to punish them with fire/water spells.
Everythingelse I tried they pretty much resisted. This is when you realize
you absolutely need a sorcer. A sorc with expertise in fire can kill a blob
with about 3 incinerates, about 80hp. But that also mean you have to run
back and tick, which is why you want to get that handy Llyod beacon to
teleport back...

Wait until you start dealing BIG blood bursts with your physical attack.
You'll really want to get up close and personal then.

Anyways, enjoy the game. I know I sure am.

On that special day, Amoeba, (amoeba35@yahoo.com) said...

There is a silly trick, that works with the minotaur king in that
mountain near Kriegspire, too. You need a good fire spell specialist for
that.

Stand close to the door, where the monsters are behind. Cast Wizard Eye
to locate them, and wait until they come close (they won't open the
door; only monsters in MM9 do that sometimes).

Then cast an Immolation ring of fire. It will penetrate doors and walls,
and hit everything beyond. Repeat the casts until everything close falls
dead. Deal with the rest.
