Sure:

ftp://ftp.game.org/pub/mud/diku/

The client is called "telnet" and comes preinstalled on most computers
today. More advanced clients are optional.

For most other codebases, try

ftp://ftp.game.org/pub/mud

and pick one that sounds cool, like "tiny" or "lp".
