V551 Voicemail Question

Is there a way to disable my voicemail through the phone (V551) itself
without haveing to call CS. (Cingular customer)

In the forwarding menu there is a feature to turn forwarding off to prevent
calls from being forwarded to my voicemail but every time I set it to "off"
and click done it always reverts back on its own to "fowarding to
voicemail".

I remember a post a long time ago where someone had a way of doing this and
the caller would hear a recording somehwat like "....customer is not
answering calls at this time, please try later".
