VPN working when using iphone but not behind Router

Hello,

My VPN connection works great when using shared internet connection from my iphone, but not behind my router.

Have tried two different "home" networks, none of them work...

Tried to set the routers to different subnets and such.

Anyone know what could be the issue here?

I am somewhat unclear what you are running VPN on the iphone ?

I any case. VPN in most cases runs either pptp or ipsec. Both these use protocols other than TCP or UDP to carry the data stream. Since the router is sharing a address with the internal machines it must also translate these other protocols. The router needs a special option to make this work. Many just work but other you must turn it on. Even then some implementations of VPN do not work behind routers. The only VPN that works constantly is SSL/TLS based VPN because it uses TCP as is main protocol.
