Until this weekend, my home network was great. I posted
how great it was here ("Home network success via
Microsoft"). Two things happened: (1) my dynamic IP
changed for my DSL, (2) "New Windows Updates" were
installed.
Now, I cannot access the network drive I had set-up on my
webserver to share files on the LAN and sub-LAN. All
other functions are A-OK.
Again, I use a Linksys BEFSX41 Router for interface to my
DSL, and an MN-700 from that Router as a base for the
wireless sub-LAN. The network drive on my webserver on
the LAN was accessible from ALL PCs on the LAN and sub-
LAN. Now it's accessible from none save itself.
I've checked and re-checked the static IP assigned the
webserver. I checked and re-checked the DNS settings.
The webserver is functioning properly. The "Sharing and
Security" settings are unchanged. What else? What have I
missed?
I type "http://198.162.x.x" on a LAN/sub-LAN PC and I get
the website of the webserver.
I type "\\198.162.x.x\Documents", on a LAN/sub-LAN PC and
I CANNOT now get the "Shared Documents" folder. It
cannot be found.
