Recently acquired a Dell Inspiron 6000. I had the hard drive clean off and Windows XP reinstalled. I have no problem connecting to the internet when I power up if I go through "repair connection". I have to do nearly every time I power on. How do I get it to stop? My other Inspiron had no problems connecting.

Do you have the most recent drivers and firmware loaded for the device. Is it a wireless adapter that's causing the problem ? Have you set up your wireless home network and is your Dell 6000 joined to that network ? Wireless network password loaded on the computer ?

Thank you very much for the suggestion. Someone suggested since I had wiped the hard drive clean and added XP only that I go to Dell.com and update the latest drivers. The website did a diagnostic and told me what drivers I needed to download. I downloaded and now this morning when I turn the laptop on the network connection connected automatically without having to do a "repair."
