Ethernet access not working after Win8 upgrade

Hello, I get the message "unidentified network - no internet access" on my computer since my upgrade to Windows 8. I'm using an Actiontec GT704-WG DSL modem/router connected to an ASUS M4A79XTD-EVO motherboard. I can get wireless access to my computer - a desktop - from the modem but not from the cabled DSL. Wireless is slower and less reliable it seems. Any suggestions?

try the Windows8 drivers on this site

Did you install the latest drivers from your NIC / Motherboard MFG?
