What differentiates them?
Among phones that appear similar in features, why do some models start
with V and some with E?

For instance (CDMA) the successor to the V710 is the E815.

More about : models

Good question. When the E815 came out, I was unable to find it on the
MOTO webvsite, because I was looking at the V810, which isn't even CDMA.

Thanks. Figured there _must_ be a rationale somewhere.

Thanks --- but forgot to include in the original question - "A" models?
(e.g. A980).
