I purchased a netgear n600 wireless dual band gigabit router. I am wanting to know if i can connect it to the wireless router/modem combo I have now. Or do I need to purchase a separate modem and just get rid of the combo I have now. I would need a dsl modem and not a cable modem. I can not find a dsl modem online with good reviews, so I am not sure what to do. I have been told that I can connect it to what I have now and I have been told I can't (between best buy and staples) One says yes and other says no. Please help.

No, you can attach it to the combo. If you turn off DHCP in the modem/router then the N600 will do your router work.

You can also connect it at a distance with a long Ethernet cable and make the N600 a wireless access point (using an LAN to LAN connection).

Which are you looking to do? And what is the brand and model of the combo modem/router?
