The keyboard will have a Fn key that enables the function keys at the top of the keyboard and the key with a wireless symbol on it is the one that will turn on the wireless. On my Toshibe it's the F8 key that does that and on the HP it may be a different one or the same. The Fn key will most likly be located beside the Window key and the fwew keys that have a darker or differnt color symbol on it along with the letter or number are the one's that are activated by the Fn key.
Sometimes there is also a manual switch on the front edge of the laptop that will switch the wireless on and off.
