and

Do you know if either of them are really compatible with the motherboard I have? As I know that some people have problems with pc3200 ram and their motherboard.

Oh.. And here is a dumb question that I probly allready know the answer too.
If I buy the pc3200 ddr 400mhz ram can I put it with my 512 pc2100 ddr ram and my 128meg pc2100ddr ram?

:)

can you atleast tell me if I can mix the two. But it would be a waste to put the pc2100 in the first slot so the mobo can reconize it then downclock the pc3200 to a speed of a p2100. should I just get rid of the pc2100 all together?

crashman you seem to have the most knowledge of everythint around here. Mostly seems like Gigabyte motherboards.
Can you help me about this?
Ive heard heard that ddr400 cause some Gigabyte to be unstable along with other brands. Me im going in Gigabyte because they seem to be able to make the most stable ones out of the others(kinda!).

those 2 links are the same stuff, just 2 or 1 pieces.

They'll both work with your board.

Yes, you can use them with the slower stuff, but you'll have to clock it down to the speed of the slowest DIMM.

It's always the one thing you never suspected.

No I was asking if the 1gig stick was compatible and is the 512 compatible also.
Because some board can only take a 512 stick but not 1gig

I know the 512 is compatible now but is the 1 gig compatible?
I dont wanna buy a 380-400 dollar corsair 1 gig pc3200 400mhz chip and not work and have to pay to ship it back at like 20% cost of 400 bucks.

Gigabyte has a very very very short list of compatible and that they seem to not update it or something.
I checked it has pc3200 support but i dont want 256 ram as the list says.
They only support 1 512 ram which is pc2100 and this is very dissapointing.

Well about 512meg max and pc3200 support on gigabyte website.
Also it holds up to 3gig which means 1gig a stick.
But I need to know if corsairs 1 gig would work

it should say in the description of the motherboard on the manufacters website.

Life is irrelivent and irrational.
