Same i'm using windows seven, when i plug my iPad in i click on "computer" and you will/should see it as a device.
You can then go click "DCIM" and view and or import all/any or view your pics you want to...
At last, iPad fans can try out the tutorials about transferring photo from iPad to Windows computer.
It worked extremely well.
