When I try to test the HDD in "IBM DFT" I get this error "Device is password protected and can not be tested"

I can't access the HDD in Windows XP or MS-DOS

I also got this error "Disposition Code = 0x22"

Here are som info about the HDD

Model Nr.: DJNA-352500

And this is the status in "IBM DFT"

The drive must be using NTFS and you don't have permission to access the Drive, you can format, but not read any Data.
This is what NTFS is for....

Do you smell that? I love the smell of thermal compound in the morning

Hmmm, wonder if I can get a valid page fault ???
these invalid ones are far too commonplace...

Thank you all for your answers

This apears to be feature that IBM developed for laptops. the purpos is to protect user data if their HDD are stolen from their laptops and tried to open with another computer

and how this happend in case is that I only unpluged the hdd from the onbord disc controler and connected it to an promise ata133 controler...since then I haven't be able to do anything to the disk....not even format it
