Hi everybody,

Been away from r.a.p. for about 6 months after years of regular posting
(yeah, nobody probably noticed). I see many familiar posters still
around, but some missing, and some new names as well. Has all the OT
noise died down any? Well, a guy can hope...

Jay,
It's really good to see you back. What have you been up to? I
certainly noticed your absence and in fact I was asking about you
around the time of the election in early November, when the off-topic
stuff had reached it's peak. Then the OT stuff dropped off
significantly about two weeks after the election.
As for what you've missed out on, two words: Phil Allison!

Oh no! I'll keep an eye out. I've been up to the usual - making lots of
music. What's less usual is that I've moved. My wife is anxious to start
a family, so we're re-adjusting some things for that.

Thanks for the re-welcome. See you 'round the zeros and ones...

In addition to thousands of OT political posts, immature flame wars,
and incredibly wrong advice from people who do not know what they are
talking about, we have a new resident @$$#0<3, Phil Allison.

Yes, and I'm sure everybody here wishes Phil Allison would take a holiday
where there is no Internet so we can all get a holiday from his idiotic
postings.

Phil's a guy, who really knows a lot!
Still the words of the late John Lennon do come to mind,
"I got a chip on my sholder that's bigger than my head".
Kinda says it all.

It would be a superb New Years resolution for all of those that feel the need
to impose their political views on this newsgroup to control themselves. I
can't believe these self-centered nuts really think their view on things is the
"best" or that they are so superior interlectually, that they have to "correct"
our thinking to coincide with theirs.

What a demeaning attitude towards the rest of us. If they would only realize,
we don't require their input or help to make our own decisions.

To answer your question more specifically, you've missed OT comments and select
folks who believe we aren't capable of going through life without their
guidance.

BTW, where are you now. I remember when you moved from Atlanta to the west
coast.

He's in the killfile, but I still see large streams of replies to his postings.

In some ways I kind of envy him. He doesn't hear a lot of unpleasant
things. I sure wish I didn't hear some of the things he doesn't hear.
His world is probably much better-sounding than mine is.

I believe it's all in the mic placement.

Agreed. While the cranium-in-anal-orifice posture does tend to block out
many decibels of noise, the atmosphere tends to reek unpleasantly.

I'm always on holiday from his bullshit because I simply don't read any of it.
Life's too short to waste on such childish jackoffs.
