i got a new v635 the other day and have a few questions with the
configuration.

in the main menu, there is an IM option but it says that it needs to be
setup. does anyone know what the correct settings are?

also, when i get a voicemail, i also get a text message that only says
^@ and thats it. is there a way to disable it?

thanks in advance

Are you on T-Mobile by any chance?

Your carrier is sending a special SMS that is supposed to control the MWI
(Message Waiting Indicator) on the handset. But your phone is configured
to ignore it, so it registers a junk text message any time the carrier
tells it to switch the status of the MWI.

There is a seem edit to fix it - you will need a data cable and software
like P2KSEEM. Be aware that disabling it (and enabling the MWI switching)
wil also disable manual network selection on many phones.
