I have a Toshiba SD-M1212 DVD ROM which used to work well until today. I can't close the tray - anytime I pushed it in the LED on the DVD ROM became a flush yellow and automatically send the tray out. I tried reboot machine but it didn't help. XP's didn't find anything wrong about this hardware.
Does anyone know what's the possible reason and how to solve it?
Really appreciate any suggestion!

What does it do when a cd is in the tray? If it still does the same thing i would look into exchanging it. If its out of warrenty u can try taking the cover off and see if something is binding inside. Just make sure not to look at the laser!

does it do th is with or without a cd in the tray?
there should be a pin sized hole on the front of the cd rom some where, if you get a neddle and poke it in there, with the pc off, the tray should get released off the runner, then just simply push it back in again, try it.

God made adam and eve not adam and steve!!!!!!
