I have an Acer Aspire One KAV60 Netbook running Windows 7 Starter with built-in wireless that turns on and off with a spring loaded switch. The switch works fine, but recently started flashing the grey "on/off" icon in the center of the screen as if I am turning the switch on and off. I disabled the adapter and switched to a USB wireless for now, but would like to get the internal working again. Any ideas what would be causing this?
The switch could be getting worn out if the laptop is old and has had a lot of use. The switch should be replacable but you may have to take it to a repair shop if you aren't good at taking a laptop apart. You would also have to find a replacement switch.
I plugged it into an external monitor and closed the lid and the icon quit flashing on and off. It may be the switch then because when the lid is closed the switch is inoperable. I'm thinking I may just need a new computer.
