I still cant connect to my yahoo page on desktop computer

I can' bring up the yahoo page on my desktop computer. i tried everything. i have a modem hooked up, all the lights come on, on the front page it says can not connect to the page you are displaying

Can you open any other web pages? google, cnn, espn, etc...
